Welcome to Interbay
Proud recipient of the 2008 - 2009 Silver premier Lodge Award, First Publication Award, Lodge 201 to 400 members and "Friendliest Place in Town" Social Quarters award.
On March 3, 1974 Interbay Tampa Lodge #912, Loyal Order of Moose, was chartered with 81 Charter Members being enrolled. Seven months later on October 8, 1974 the Lodge was incorporated for business in the State of Florida.
From 1974 thru 1976 the membership held their meetings at various places. In 1976 the membership purchased the property on which the Lodge still stands. Located on the property was an old ramshackle building which the members remodeled as best they could and used as their Lodge facilities.
On February 20, 1977 the WOTM Chapter #1254 was chartered with 48 Charter Members being enrolled.
In 1978 the membership purchased the property which is now the parking lot.
In 1980 the membership undertook the huge task of building a new Lodge home. The first phase of construction was to build the existing Lodge meeting room and dance hall. This was completed by the end of 1981. The second phase was to build the existing Social Quarters, kitchen area, and offices for the LOOM & WOTM. In 1984, needing more parking area, the membership purchased the property south of the building. With all construction being complete, the membership moved into their new facilities by the end of 1986. At that time the old building located on the front of the property was torn down and is now used for additional parking.
Although the entire construction project took six years to complete, the membership was and still is extremely proud of the fact that 95% of the cost of all construction labor and building materials were done by volunteer help, donations and continous fund raising projects by both the LOOM & WOTM.
In 1991 a new foundation and concrete slab were added for a storeroom and patio. In 1995 the storeroom was turned into the existing pool table area and in 1996 the patio area became the existing dart machine and table area.
In 2003 the Social Quarters remodel project was underway. During that year the Administrators Office was relocated to its present position, two new AC units were purchased, the old offices was torn down and replaced by the bandstand and a new dance floor was added to the Social Quarters.
Also in 2003 the Lodge was offically designated as Interbay Tampa Moose Family Center #912.
In the Social Quarters from 2005 - 2006 two new wall closets were built, the utility closet was set back 9 feet, the archway with the bar counter top was completed and the old dance floor at the back of the Social Quarters was removed. New carpet was also purchased and installed for the entire area.
Interbay Tampa Moose Family Center #912 is a perfect example of a Lodge that, only through the memberships hard work, dedication, loyality and donations can acheive the true meaning of a "LODGE HOME"
