Governor's Message

I want to Thank all the members for their donations and time given to the Lodge for the Children's Back to School Bingo. Thank you to Cindy Maloy who did such a good job. Every child went home with a stuffed back pack. It shows what can be done when we all pull together. GOOD JOB EVERYONE!
I look forward to seeing you at the Labor Day picnic. We will be having the usual Turkey shoot and pool tournament as well as open mic karaoke. Please bring a covered dish. This will also be a fundraiser for Al Alexander so please show your support for a brother in distress.
Hope everyone that goes to Getaway weekend enjoys themselves and comes home rested, relaxed and safe.
I would like to say THANK YOU to all thirty five people who supported our Lodge at the District Meeting on Sunday August 8th. For the second consecutive meeting we DID NOT receive the 'Chicken' and it will not be missed. The next District Meeting will be held at the Riverview Lodge #2158 on Sunday Sept. 12th at 1p.m.. Please make arrangements to attend and continue to support your Lodge.
See you all at the Lodge home.

WHERE HAVE ALL THE CANDIDATES GONE?
During the entire month of July we signed up and enrolled only 2 new members. At this time in August we have received 0 applications. The Moose Int'l. membership campaign of sign up and enroll 2 members by April 30th, 2011 and you receive 1 years dues paid by Moose Int'l. should be a big incentive for all members to get busy looking for qualified applicants. Even if they are signed up and enrolled in another Lodge you will still receive the credit. The best way to find qualified applicants is to ASK THEM. Lets not fall prey to complacency and jeopardize the Premier Lodge Award by not increasing our membership!

Fraternally, Edward Lessard, Administrator

MOOSE LEGION

I would like to thank all of our members that came to our August meeting, as always it would be great to see even more. We have selected another project for the Committee to complete, which is to replace the roof and support beams over the outside kitchen. Any additional help would be appreciated.
The Moose Legion all-u-can eat "Fish Fry" dinner every third Friday of the month is doing well and we hope it continues to be popular. The proceeds from these meals are used to complete projects as mentioned earlier and fulfill our obligation to the Moose Legion and Moose Legion Charities.
Don't forget about the Moose Legion Celebration the 34th - 26th of this month held at the Brandon Lodge with golf tournament on Saturday 25th Bloomingdale golf course. It's going to be great!
The Moose Legion is the 2nd degree of our fraternity and is recognized as the "Degree of Service". Eligibility to enroll in this degree is a minimum of 1 year membership and sponsorship of at least 1 new or former member, or 6 months of membership and sponsorship of at least 3 or more new or former members. By enrolling in the Moose Legion you will also be able to join the Council of Higher Degrees
The Moose Legion Committee meets on the 1st Wednesday monthly. The purpose of these meetings is to rededicate our commitment to providing much needed service to our lodge and fraternity. Also our committee sponsors the 3rd Friday night dinner of each month. The proceeds from these dinners are used to complete various projects in our lodge and help fulfill our monetary obligation to Moose Charities. Our committee would like to thank evertone for patronizing our dinners and fund raisers.
If you qualify and are interested in joining our ranks in the "Degree of Service" please contact myself or any of the other 67 Moose Legionnaires in our Lodge. They are easy to find, Just ask around.  Our next meeting will be on Wednesday September 1st at 7:00p.m.. Our next Legion Dinner All you can eat Fish Fry will be Friday September 17th.
