Mooseheart Child City & School is a 1,000 acre community and school for children and teens in need of a secure home. It's location near Aurora, IL and it's owned and maintained by Moose International. Mooseheart is supported completely through private donations, the great majority of which comes from the 1.1 million men and women of our fraternal organization through its Lodges and Chapters like Interbay Tampa Moose Lodge #912 and WOTM Chapter 1254, located through-out the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Bermuda.
The "Child City" schools provide total education from nursery school thur the 12th grade. High School graduates receive both a diploma and a vocational certificate in the subject for which they completed all requirements. The school is supervised by the Department of Public Instruction, State of IL. Current population is about 230 boys and girls. Moosehaven City of Contentment is a beautiful 70 acre retirement community located along the broad St John's River in Orange Park, FL just 15 miles south of Jacksonville. Currently, there are approximately 400 retired Moose members in residence at Moosehaven. As with Mooseheart, Moosehaven is owned & operated by Moose International and supported by our Lodges and Chapters. Although our "City of Contentment" is for the elderly folks it receives no Federal or State Welfare funds, no Medicaid help, nor any Federal grants or surplus food supplies.
Founded in 1922, Moosehaven has provided thousands of Moose members and their spouses with a secure, relaxed and enjoyable retirement experience. Residents enjoy their beautiful community without the burden of house maintenance or transportation concerns.
Comprehensive health care, religious services, social activities, sports and arts and crafts facilities, a 450 foot concrete pier, special dinners, dances, shopping and sightseeing tours are all available.
